Our Band Of The Week, is a feature designed to promote the wonderful unsigned and indie label talent on offer in the UK right now.
Littlemores are this week's Band of the Week. An extremely gifted, young four piece from York, whose ska infused, Indie music continues to wow crowds with its mix of jangly guitars, trumpet and accordion accompaniment with excellent, witty lyrics.
Extremely rhythmic and melodic, the electric paced drumming, deep, up front bass, jangly guitar riffs and melodies and fantastic accompaniment from trumpet and accordion creates a very unique sound, influenced by acts such as The Specials, The Libertines, The Jam and The Clash.
Littlemores are Conor Hirons, lead vocals and guitar, Kai West, bass, Jack Williams, drums and Ben Crosthwaite, trumpet, accordion and Cajun.
The group are regulars on the York gig circuit, where they recently won the Battle Of The Bands competition in the city, they have also played some festival sets this summer, most notably at Galtres Festival, where they played a fantastic set with York's charity, The Arts Barge Project, which was the highlight of the festival, with an EP launch under their belts, unveiling the sublime Idle Idols II EP, the group are now looking to push their careers forward, spreading their wings with gigs away from York and having also entered The Source, a televised groups competition, where the groups video Charlie Blow, was voted through to the televised competition, coming 17th after only a few days of voting.
A hard working group, full of talent and potential, they are without doubt worthy of The Band Of The Week title and are certainly a group to keep your eye on.
