Pulp Reunite For Live Shows In 2011

Sheffield Britpop icons Pulp have announced they are to re-form for live dates next summer, revealing that they will headline a British festival in 2011. Next year's return will mark the group's first live performance together since 1996.

So far, a series of festival appearances have been announced for 2011, including London's Wireless and Spain's Primavera Sound. Fronted by Jarvis Cocker, Pulp have revealed the news nearly a year since Cocker denied that the band were getting back together.

A press release distributed this morning said: "Pulp have decided to get together and play some concerts next summer. The shows will involve all the original members of the band (Nick Banks, Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Steve MacKey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber) and they will play songs from all periods of their career. Yes, that means they'll be playing your favourites."

Forming in 1978, Pulp garnered a massive cult following before breaking into the mainstream with 1995 anthem 'Common People'. Seven albums were released by Pulp before they announced a hiatus in 2002.

Ticket details for the newly announced shows are yet to be revealed, with further details of the reunion expected to be announced soon. Check out Pulp's official website to see the announcement that signs off with the question: “Do you remember the first time?”

Pulp will be headlining Hyde Park's Wireless Festival on Sunday 3rd July, tickets are on sale this Friday November 12th at 9am.
