Adele is on track to return to Number One in the UK singles chart this week, according to midweek sales figures. According to the sales figures released yesterday, Adele has knocked Nicole Scherzinger’s ‘Dont Hold Your Breath’ from the top spot and currently sits in the Number One position again.
As things stand Adele will earn her fifth non-consecutive week at the top of the chart with her brooding track ‘Someone Like You’. The Wanted are still currently in the Number Three position with their Comic Relief track ‘Gold Forever’.
In terms of the UK albums chart, Adele is also still ahead by a mileE with her worldwide hit LP ‘21’. If the singer makes it to Number One this weeked she will equal Madonna’s record as the longest serving UK Number One album made by a woman. The singer will match the record set by Madonna’s ‘Immaculate Collection’ in 1990.
The Strokes currently sit at Number Two in the albums chart with their comeback LP ‘Angles’, while Nicole Scherzinger currently occupies Number Seven with her debut solo album ‘Killer Love’.
