Mike Skinner Writing Soundtrack For ‘Inbetweeners’ Film?

Thursday, 24 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

Mike Skinner will be writing the soundtrack to the upcoming film from ‘The Inbetweeners’, according to The Sun. The British newspaper have claimed that Skinner will be scoring the film, which will feature entirely new material from the musician.

The film will follow schoolboys Jay, Will, Simon and Neil as they take their first holiday together without their parents. The movie has been filmed in the Spanish town of Magaluf, and fans have been told to expect the standard purile comedy and sexual exploits when the film hits British cinemas this August.

Speaking about Skinner’s contribution to the movie, a source close to the film said: "Mike is the perfect fit. All the material he is writing for the film is new. He is really excited about the whole thing." Mike Skinner is yet to comment about his involvement on the project.

Meanwhile, The Streets are set to appear on the NME stage at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals. The band have been touring their most recent LP, ‘Computers and Blues’, which Skinner has revealed will be the final album under The Streets moniker. If the details about his involvement on the film proves to be true, it will mean good news for fans of the rapper and songwriter, who many believed would be ending his musical career entirely after the current tour cycle.
