Ron Sexsmith Announces UK Tour Dates & Tickets

Canadian folk singer Ron Sexsmith has announced a number of UK tour dates in August and September to follow his recent string of June dates, which included appearances at Glastonbury and London’s Meltdown Festival – see below for all dates and tickets.

Ron’s 12th album ‘Long Player Late Bloomer’ was released earlier this year and has since been shortlisted for the 2011 Polaris Prize – Canada’s version of our own Mercury Prize – alongside Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’. The album was produced by Bob Rock, who has previously worked with artists as diverse at The Offspring, Metallica, Cher and Michael Buble. Rock has also recently finished producing the new album from reformed rockers Bush called ‘The Sea of Memories’ - their first in ten years.

The recording of ‘Long Player Late Bloomer’ was made into a feature-length documentary by filmmaker by Douglas Arrowsmith entitled ‘Love Shines’, which features interviews with Sexsmith, Rock, Elvis Costello, Feist and actor Keifer Sutherland, who co-owns Ironworks Studio, where the album was recorded. The film premiered at last year’s Vancouver International Film Festival and was broadcast on BBC4 in March 2011 – watch the official ‘Love Shines’ trailer below.
