Steven Tyler Leaves American Idol To Concentrate On 'First Love' Aerosmith

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has announced that he is leaving his post as a judge on American Idol to concentrate on his world-famous rock band.
The band have never officially split but since 2004 they’ve been quiet on the release front and haven’t put out a record in eight years. However, recently, the band have been hard at work finishing what will be their fifteenth studio album - and to help make the process faster, Tyler will be leaving the American talent-spotting show following two years of judging.
Explaining the decision, Tyler said: “I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back - but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band.”
Aerosmith's brand new album, 'Music From Another Dimension,' is near completion and is set for an August 28th release. Frontman Tyler thinks it could turn out to be one of their greatest, saying: “It's one of the best Aerosmith albums ever [and] I'm one of the worst judges of my own music because I'm very harsh, highly critical. We waited until we had at least four really good songs that were representative and we got 19.”
