YesYou release single 'Frivolous Life' on October 15th. Brisbane duo Jono Kirkham and Gav Parry recently gained the approval of BBC Tastemaker Jen Long for their blissed out dream pop stylings. With a brand new EP set for November, 'Frivolous Life' offers a wonderful insight of what to expect from the upcoming release.
YesYou teamed up with Jinja Safari front man Marcus Azon on this release. The union is a winning formula, combining the forward thinking production methods of Parry and Kirkham with the vocals of Azon to create a track that demands your full attention. While some collaborations can feel rather forced, YesYou and Azon merge together seamlessly to produce a genuine stand-out track, further stoking the anticipation for YesYou’s debut EP.
Prior to the single release, the band are releasing a remix of the track by Aussie soundsmith Paces. Offering a new slant on the track, Paces manages to mould the production of YesYou and vocals of Azon into a spacious, glitchy soundscape. Having wowed on live shows with Electric Guest and Neon Indian, YesYou are quickly growing a reputation. This re-working demands a listen.
