Bernard Sumner - frontman of rock icons New Order - joined The Killers on stage last Monday, performing ‘Crystal’ alongside the American outfit.
The Killers had performed two gigs in the city on Sunday and Monday, after being forced to postpone two Manchester gigs last year, after frontman Brandon Flowers’ ‘voice went’. So, hoping to make it up to their fans, the band played two absolutely storming gigs - and even got a Mancunian rock icon to perform with them.
Speaking to the crowd, Flowers said: “We’ve got a little treat for you everybody. I don’t know if you know this or not but we took our name from a New Order video. It was from the song called ‘Crystal’. We’re going to play it for you tonight with the illustrious and praiseworthy Bernard Sumner.”
The band pulled out all the stops to please their Manchester fans, and also performed Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ earlier in the night. At the Sunday gig, the band performed The Smiths’ ‘There is a Light That Never Goes Out’.
You can check out video’s of the band’s performances below. The Killers return to the UK and Ireland for multiple dates this year - check below the videos for the dates and to find tickets.
