Global Gathering Announce Further Acts For 2013 Line-Up

Friday, 19 April 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

GlobalGathering, the UK’s celebration of rave culture and annual summer pilgrimage for true electro music lovers, have added Afrojack, James Zabiela, Dada Life, Mark Knight, Eats Everything, Dusky, George Fitzgerald, MK (Mark Kinchen), Doorly, Mihalis Safras, Rene Amesz, Prok & Fitch, Filthy Rich, Spectrasoul, Pedestrian, Matt Smallwood and many more to the already phenomenal line-up for 2013.

These new additions bring together the biggest arena stars and the best in new and diverse music, and reflect the huge diversity of the acts on the bill – with something to suit every dance music fan and scope for every GlobalGathering reveller to make plenty of new discoveries throughout the two days.

The first act to be announced is two-time Grammy award winning DJ and producer Afrojack (aka Nick van de Wall) whos iconic sets are sure to be worshiped on the Main Stage by the house hungry crowd. As an ultimate pioneer of electronic dance music, festival goers can expect nothing less than a bass heavy set and a world class show. Afrojack is the latest addition to the stellar Main Stage line up which also includes Plan B (LIVE), Example (LIVE), and Disclosure (LIVE) across the weekend.

Afrojack echoed his excitement and commented:

"It’s great to be performing again at GlobalGathering. The hardcore electronic music fans come from all over the world to be there, so it’s very cool to be a part of it."

Also announced are Swedish electro house duo Dada Life. Dada Life, who emerged from the Swedish music scene in 2010, will be shaking up the Global Arena with a show stopping set sure to be brimming with buzzy basslines.

GlobalGathering are also ecstatic to announce two further arenas – Born Electric and Toolroom 10 Arena. Born Electric, the label owned and arena headlined by true titan of the scene James Zabiela, will offer up an amalgam of experimental electro, harmonious house and the infectious techno synonymous with their releases. Other acts appearing across the weekend include house producer Eats Everything who will be bringing both the old school and the eccentric. Tech-house duo Dusky will bring a futuristic feel and distinctly UK undergound edge. GlobalGathering strives to promote and support the rising stars of the electronic dance music scene and Born Electric confirms this as it will play host to the names on everyone’s lips this summer: George Fitzgerald, Spectrasoul and PedestrianJames Zabiela said:

"I'm incredibly excited to not only be playing at Global this year but to play a part in curating an arena for my new label Born Electric. The stage set up we have is super cool and quite different, so I'm interested to see what people will think of it."

The Toolroom 10 Arena, a stage devoted to Toolroom Records’ and Mark Knight's distinctive sound, is back and even bigger in 2013 to celebrate its 10th year at GlobalGathering. The arena, which is focussed on bringing the underground sound of the label to the overground, will be headed up by tech-house veteran Mark Knight. Also playing on the Toolroom Arena is genre-busting producer and remixer MK (Mark Kinchen) along with Doorly, who will be tapping into a collage of house, bass dubstep, jungle, hip hop, techno, funky and more. Mihalis Safras, Rene Amesz, Prok and Fitch and Filthy Rich complete the bill.

Mistajam, the UK’s leading bass broadcaster and host of the 1xtra Arena at GlobalGathering UK, has also been confirmed to play at GlobalGathering Belarus on Saturday 6th July. Other acts playing the festival include trance warrior Paul Van Dyk, tech titan Richie Hawtin, house hero Markus Schulz and many more.
