Wednesday, 28 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Irish chart-toppers The Script have cancelled a duo of UK live shows, it has been announced.

The world-beating soft-rock outfit broke the news via Twitter earlier today, citing a ‘serious family illness’ as the reason. Messages of support are flooding in in reply - we also send our support to whomever is concerned.

As the title mentioned, its their Leeds Academy and Blackpool Illuminations gigs on August 29 and 30 respectively which have been affected - refunds will be made available via the point of Purchase.

The band wrote to fans:

“It is with deepest regret that The Script have had to cancel both their Leeds Academy (29th Aug) & Blackpool Illuminations (30th Aug) shows due to a sudden serious family illness. The band deeply regret having to cancel at such short notice. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Script HQ”
