Fontaines D.C. have joined the line up for this year's Downs Festival.
The event will be headlined by singer-songwriter and former Fugees member Ms. Lauryn Hill, who is the Bristol festival's first female and international headliner, while homegrown punks Idles will play their largest ever hometown show there. Vocalist Joe Talbot said:
"I can't wait to play Downs festival. It's a beautiful day run by beautiful people in the best city in the world. The attitude towards the bookings exemplifies the greater Bristol attitude towards music and celebrating people's differences. Magic."
The festival returns to the Downs on August 31, having previously hosted headliners Massive Attack, Elbow, Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller.
What? A one-day festival hosting debates, discussions and comedy, alongside two live music stages.
Where? The Downs, Bristol.
When? August 31.
Who? Ms. Lauryn Hill will headline the main stage, joined by the legendary Grace Jones, Neneh Cherry and Idles, with Fontaines D.C. set to open. The festival's Avon Stage, meanwhile, will host dance and hip hop this year, with sets from Loyle Carner, Crazy P, Nightmares on Wax and High Contrast with a live band.
There will also be speakers and discussions over on the Information Stage. More acts are due to be announced.
