Haggard Cat Detail New Album 'Common Sense Holiday', Share New Track First Words Feat Jamie Lenman

Tuesday, 01 October 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Haggard Cat have announced details of their next album.

Titled 'Common Sense Holiday', the follow up to the duo's 2018 debut 'Challenger' is scheduled to arrive on March 13 via Earache Records.

Alongside the record's announcement comes the slow-burning monster of a lead single, First Words, featuring former Reuben frontman Jamie Lenman on guest vocals. Speaking about the track, the band's singer and guitarist Matt Reynolds said:

"First Words was the first thing we wrote for the album, and it's also the first track on the album. It sets out our blue-print for 'Common Sense Holiday' pretty neatly so we thought it only made sense to be the very first snippet that people get to hear.

"The song itself is about finding your own unique voice and learning how to use it for the right reason. It's also about holding each other up because we are stronger in numbers than as individuals moving in different directions.

"It was very important to us during the creation of CSH that we didn't restrict ourselves to any formulas or boundaries. We absolutely ripped the songs apart when we went into the studio and the result is something unlike anything else we've ever released, and we absolutely can't wait to show it to everyone!"

The band have also shared the record's artwork and tracklist, which you can check out below. They appear at Turbulence Festival in Plymouth on October 12, before dates supporting Elvana and the Virginmarys in November and December.
