Car Seat Headrest Announce New Album 'Making A Door Less Open', Confirm North American Tour

Car Seat Headrest have announced a new album.
‘Making A Door Less Open’ will arrive on May 1 via Matador and is a collaborative record with 1 Trait Danger, a side project made up of Will Toledo and Andrew Katz. The album was recorded twice and mixed to combine elements of both a live take with guitars, drums and bass, and a MIDI environment of entirely synthesized sounds.

The result is evident in the synth-heavy lead single Can’t Cool Me Down, which features minimal electronic verses weaving lyrics with varying special effects for added interest and a rich chorus. Check out the funky drum machine video below, which contains flashing lights.
Car Seat Headrest will embark on a North American tour this summer, including three nights at New York’s Brooklyn Steel, two-night runs in Chicago, Toronto and Vancouver, and more stops around US. Tickets are on sale now.
