I Love You's is a reflective, break-up song and features a nod to Annie Lennox's 1995 hit No More I Love You's. The 23-year-old pop vocalist – whose last public romance was with Niall Horan – discussed the inspiration behind the lyrics:
"After going through a breakup, I decided I needed time to focus on myself and heal without the distractions of another relationship. There's something really empowering about deciding what's best for you and putting yourself first. That's what this record is about."
The stirring track invokes self-love and hope through floaty synths over peppy beats. It follows Wrong Direction in previewing a forthcoming two-part project. Part one is due out on May 1, with the release's title and additional details to be revealed soon. In addition to I Love You's and Wrong Direction, it'll include four other tracks.
