Record Store Day organisers have announced details of their planned ‘drops’.
Having confirmed that this year’s event will take place across three new dates— August 29, September 26 and October 24—due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the list of titles assigned to each drop has now been unveiled. In a statement, they said:
While we’d all love nothing more than a party at our local record stores, large groups just aren’t the right thing right now. Those independently-owned community businesses remain essential, in our eyes, and may need the revenue brought in by the sales of the sought-after titles on the Record Store Day 2020 List this year more than any other.More details on what social distancing measures will be put in place by each store will be issued closer to the time and releases will be made available online from participating record shop websites at 6pm.
Out on August 29 are releases from Biffy Clyro, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Christine and the Queens, Charli XCX, the Weeknd, Robyn, Billie Eilish, and Tyler, The Creator.
Among others September 26 will welcome Ellie Goulding, Destiny’s Child, Tegan and Sara, Bob Mould, Declan McKenna, Nas, the Replacements, Natalie Prass, and Fleetwood Mac, plus a box set of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s ‘Return to the 36 Chambers’.
On October 24 get your hands on vinyl from the Rolling Stones, Beck and St. Vincent, Clutch, the Specials, and Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. Head here for the full list.
