It features footage of their performance at London's O2 Arena in September 2019, which formed part of their Simulation Theory Tour of the UK and Europe in support of their 2018 album of the same name.
The film was directed by Lance Drake, who was at the helm for all the videos for the 'Similuation Theory' cuts. He also produced the film alongside the band, Pulse Films and Jesse-Lee Stout.
According to a description on the trio's website: "[The film] follows a team of scientists as they investigate the source of a paranormal anomaly appearing around the world. Blurring the lines between narrative and concert film, virtual and reality, Muse's most theatrical tour to date launches the viewer through a supernatural spectacle, questioning the world around us."
The film will premiere at select IMAX cinemas on August 17 and arrive digitally on August 21. A deluxe box set of the album and film will follow on December 11. Watch the trailer below.
This year has also seen frontman Matt Bellamy release a solo single. Head here to listen to Tomorrow's World.
