Ólafur Arnalds has confirmed details of his new album.
Titled 'some kind of peace', it'll arrive on November 6 and is set to feature the previously released Back To The Sky, alongside the newly shared We Contain Multitudes, a minimalist piano ballad, which comes with a video directed by Blair Alexander.
The Icelandic composer completed much of the follow-up to 2018's 'Re:member' before lockdown. It's also a collaborative record with the likes of Bonobo, Josin and JFDR featuring among its 10 tracks. Check out the new song, and the LP's artwork and tracklist below. Arnalds said in a statement:
"['We Contain Multitudes'] was written at a friend's cabin in a jungle, late at night, on a tiny electric keyboard. At the time I had spent so much time away from what I had considered home, almost setting up a separate life on the other side of the planet. My mind was going through a process of learning to live in two vastly different cultures, of recognising that within one body there are multitudes of different and often contradictory facets of personality. The song remains a reminder that our minds are not constants, the self is ever evolving."
The ongoing concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic has caused Arnalds to postpone all of his 2020 shows, including a performance at London's Eventim Apollo in September. Rescheduled dates are still to be announced.
