Similar to its recent predecessor Baby Let's Make It Real, Who You Say You Are was recorded at the band's studio in the Los Feliz neighbourhood in Los Angeles, California. Both have now been released as a limited edition 7” single that's restricted to 500 copies. Head here for further details on that.
The tracks mark the first new offering from Eels since their 2018 album 'The Deconstruction'. Discussing the latest, a sombre indie-rock ballad revolving around a hypnotising electric guitar riff, frontman E said:
“Here’s a way to forget your troubles for 2 minutes and 55 seconds. Listen to this song and think about my problems instead. You’re welcome!”
