Benee has dropped a new single, Plain.
The alt-pop track cuts in with glossy, rolling, trap-heavy beats, and welcomes chirpy guest verses from Lily Allen and buzzworthy rapper Flo Milli, alongside a woozy vocal from the Auckland native. Stream below.
The collaboration will feature on the 20-year-old’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Hey u x’, scheduled for release on November 13. She said:
“I wanted to make it a song someone could listen to when they find out their ex is with someone new. The feeling sucks, so I wanted Plain to make ya feel like you have the upper hand. Lily and Flo Milli both have such cool sass, and both their verses really elevated the track!”
Allen, meanwhile, put out her last LP, the Mercury Prize-nominated ‘No Shame’, in 2018, and Milli’s first mixtape, ‘Ho, Why Is You Here?’, dropped in July.
