The War On Drugs have unveiled a Warren Zevon cover.
The revamp of Accidentally Like A Martyr will feature on the group’s forthcoming live LP, ’Live Drugs’, due out on November 20 via leader Adam Granduciel’s own imprint, Super High Quality Records.
It doesn’t deviate too far from the poignant, piano-based track, with Granduciel describing the 1978 original as, “so simple and so true, you should ever be lucky to write a song that simple." Press play below.
Additionally, The War On Drugs have shared details of a new four-episode podcast titled The Super High Quality Podcast. It’ll premiere the same day as the record’s release and will dive into the making of ’Live Drugs’, which was curated from over 40 hard drives of live recordings from throughout the band’s career.
Their last album was 2017’s Grammy-winning ’A Deeper Understanding’.
