Richard Ashcroft is back with a John Lennon cover.
The rousing rework of Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple) comes with a video of the singer-songwriter performing the track at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London.
Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple) was a protest song written by Lennon that featured on his 1973 album 'Mind Games'.
It marks the first material from the former frontman of The Verve since his 2018 fifth solo LP 'Natural Rebel'. In September 2020, he revealed to Radio X that he was working on an acoustic full-length comprising his greatest hits. That December, Ashcroft then confirmed two London shows at the Palladium in May. Tickets are on sale now.
