The inaugural South Facing Festival will take over the newly revived Crystal Palace Bowl amphitheatre this summer.
The concert series will feature 12 live shows along with family friendly mid-week events for the south London community.
The first five acts have been confirmed ,with Dizzee Rascal and the Outlook Orchestra performing on August 14, Supergrass on August 20, The Streets the following day, Max Richter on August 28, and the English National Opera performing Tosca on August 27 and 29. A second wave of shows will be revealed in due course.
Acts that have previously performed on the iconic open air stage during its 60-year history include the likes of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed and The Cure. South Facing Festival Director, Marcus Weedon said:
"After what’s been an extremely difficult 12 months for the live music industry, we can’t wait to put on a fantastic series of events that people can really get excited about. Not only do we have some amazing artists who are itching to put on a great show, we also have the privilege of being able to stage the festival at an iconic and important outdoor London venue, which has sadly been dormant in recent years. We’re all working incredibly hard to make sure South Facing is a fitting return to glory for the Crystal Palace Bowl!"
Early bird tickets are on sale now, ahead of general sale at 9am on March 15.
