Foo Fighters have shared details of a new documentary.
What Drives Us will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video on April 30 via Roswell Films/Therapy Studios.
Directed by vocalist Dave Grohl, alongside Jessica Young, Brandon Kim, and Dean Gonzalez, with production from Foo Fighters, John Ramsay, James A Rota, and Mark Monroe, the feature-length spotlights the process of touring as a band and includes interviews with a host of stars and figures from the music industry.
Those set to feature include Ringo Starr, AC/DC's Brian Johnson, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, St. Vincent, Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses, U2's The Edge, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea, and Metallica's Lars Ulrich, among others. Grohl said:
"This film is my love letter to every musician that has ever jumped in an old van with their friends and left it all behind for the simple reward of playing music. What started as a project to pull back the curtain on the DIY logistics of stuffing all of your friends and equipment into a small space for months on end eventually turned into an exploration of 'why?' What drives us?"
In the meantime, check out the trailer below. Earlier in April, Grohl revealed details of his first book, The Storyteller, due out on October 5 through WME in the UK.
Foo Fighters, meanwhile, dropped their latest studio LP, 'Medicine At Midnight', in February. COVID-19 regulations permitting, they're due to appear at a handful of European festivals this summer.
