Normani has dropped her new single, Wild Side featuring Cardi B.
The collaboration has been a long time coming, with fans of both artists waiting with baited breath for the duo to join forces after spotting Normani's cameo in Cardi B's WAP music video.
Normani's silky, enchanting vocals lay the foundations for the perfect contrast to Cardi's signature raunchy lyrics that pop up in the second verse, bringing us girl power by the diamond-encrusted bucketload in the track's accompanying music video.
Although this is a dream duo for many, Normani revealed that her counterpart came onto the track a little later than fans would have imagined. She said:
“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time. She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”
Wild Side follows Normani's global smash hit Motivation, an MTV Video Music Award for her single Waves and a support slot Ariana Grande's Sweetener World Tour. Her last single, meanwhile, was a 2020 team-up with Megan Thee Stallion for Diamonds from the Birds Of Prey soundtrack.
