Phoebe Bridgers And Chris Stapleton Post Covers Of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters

Phoebe Bridgers has unveiled a cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters.
The new version will appear on 'The Metallica Blacklist', an upcoming star-studded, 53-song tribute album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the thrash icons' classic self-titled LP, better known as 'The Black Album'.
Offering up a haunting and atmospheric aesthetic, the track's layering of keys and strings builds a sense of tension throughout. It arrives along with country star Chris Stapleton's pretty faithful take on the song, as well as an archive clip from Metallica, showing fans queuing to buy 'The Black Album' from record shops on this day (August 12) back in 1991.
Other acts contributing reworked songs to the record include Biffy Clyro with their revamp of Holier Than Thou, St Vincent's industrial spin on Sad But True, Volbeat's take on Don't Tread On Me, and Weezer's faithful cover of Enter Sandman. The charity release is due out digitally on September 10 through Metallica's Blackened Recordings. Head here for further details.
Bridgers, who put out 'Punisher' in 2020, recently announced her 25-show Reunion Tour of the United States. Tickets are on sale now.
Metallica have a string of North American festivals in the diary for this fall, along with two hometown shows at San Francisco's Chase Center in December, the main event of their ongoing 40th birthday celebrations. They also have European festivals scheduled for summer 2022.
