Olly Alexander has shared details of a new Years And Years album.
The follow-up to 2018's 'Palo Santo' is called 'Night Call' and will arrive on January 7 via Polydor Records.
It'll include the previously unveiled single Starstruck, along with the vibrant new track Crave, a club-ready, electro-pop number accompanied by velvety vocals and pulsating synths. Commenting on it, Alexander said it's "a playful way of inhabiting the deranged sexual energy I’ve always wanted. In the past, I felt like I’ve been dominated by toxic relationships, and I felt like it would be fun to turn it on its head."
The record will be the first from Years And Years since Alexander announced that the band will continue as a solo project, following the departure of Emre Türkmen and Mikey Goldsworthy in March. Confirming news of the LP, Alexander wrote on Facebook:
"Let me take you far away. My new album is out on the 7th January. I'm so happy this moment has finally come! 'Night Call' has been my escape for the past couple of years, I put all my frustration, loneliness, hope, horniness, grief and optimism into making a really fun record I could dance to, I’m so excited to put this out and share it with you all."
