Pixies Confirm September Release For Eighth Studio Album 'Doggerel', Announce New Track

Pixies have announced their eighth studio album.
'Doggerel' will arrive on September 30 via BMG, following up 2019's 'Beneath The Eyrie', though since then the Boston rockers have dropped two companion EPs of demos from that record's sessions, along with standalone singles Hear Me Out and Human Crime.
To accompany the news, the influential band have announced the single There's A Moon On, which will be released alongside the record. They've also unveiled a new mini-documentary, featuring a behind-the-scenes look of the making of the LP, as well as insight from the band. Take a look below. Guitarist Joey Santiago commented:
"This time around we have grown. We no longer have under two-minute songs. We have little breaks, more conventional arrangements but still our twists in there."
Vocalist and guitarist Black Francis added: "We're trying to do things that are very big and bold and orchestrated. The punky stuff, I really like playing it but you just cannot artificially create that shit. There's another way to do this, there's other things we can do with this extra special energy that we're encountering."
Ahead of the LP's release, they'll play summer shows in Ireland and mainland Europe, next to gigs at Manchester's Sound Of The City, a London BST Hyde Park show as guests to Pearl Jam, a rescheduled headline set at Bingley Weekender, and a headline slot at End Of The Road festival in September. The band will also resume their Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa Tour in Australia and New Zealand in December.
