Fake Names will release their second studio album next spring.
The punk supergroup — Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion), Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace, One Last Wish), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, International Noise Conspiracy, INVSN), Johnny Temple (Girls Against Boys, Soulside) and Brendan Canty (Fugazi, Rites of Spring) — will release 'Expendables' on March 3, following up their 2020 self-titled debut.
Produced by Adam "Atom" Greenspan, who has previously worked with Refused, Idles, and more, the record's first single is Delete Myself, a sub three-minute ball of punk rock energy, complete with driving guitars, earnest vocals and a pounding rhythm section.
Guitarist and vocalist Baker said of the LP: "The pop influences are a little more out front on this one and the production really helps it shine. It sounds more direct, more urgent.
Discussing the record's lyrical themes, he added: "In general, Dennis writes about revolution, and Michael and I write pop songs. I’m amazed at how it works, but somehow it strikes the right balance of salty and sweet."
Fake Names have also announced a run of US shows for April, with tickets on general sale at 10am local time on November 18. Head below for details.
