Tove Lo has released a new single called Borderline.
Co-written with superstar Dua Lipa, the punchy pop track marks the Swedish artist's first new music since the release of her 2022 album 'Dirt Femme'.
It also marks the second time the pair have collaborated, with Lo co-writing the track Cool on Lipa's 2020 album 'Future Nostalgia'.
"Thank you to the usual suspects I can't live without Ludde and Jakob and tons of love to @DUALIPA for trusting me with this baby!!" Tove Lo wrote on Twitter. "This is the very first song we wrote together and the very start of our friendship so this feels extra special. Now everybody hold your breath…"
Meanwhile, Lipa captioned her Instagram story post: "The first day Tove Lo and I got into the studio we wrote this song and I am so excited for it to come out into the world!!!"
Head below to view the accompanying video, by Brazilian director Nogari, shot in Mexico City, which serves as the sequel to No One Dies From Love. "Borderline is a song about being on the edge of love," Lo revealed. "The drama you cause inside yourself and with another person if you feel insecure. You test them. This song has existed for a long time and I’ve always felt it was incredibly special so getting to release it now has sort of a full circle feeling. Maybe that’s why it was the perfect song for Annie’s revenge video. I hope my fans love the bizarre love story that unfolds in this video, it’s my favorite kind of thing!"
With Lo's 2023 North American tour currently underway, she has added new US headline shows for May, followed by European dates in June. Tickets are on sale now. Lipa, meanwhile, is nominated in the Best Pop/R&B Act category at the Brit Awards, which will take place at The O2, London this Saturday (February 11).
