The lo-fi electronic track marks Isaac Holman's first new music since the release of his 2022 debut album, 'Monkey Brain', which featured both co-production and instrumental contributions from Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn. Holman explained:
"Sometime last year I started receiving voice notes on Insta from a very enthusiastic dog trainer. He was contacting me because he had an idea for a music video involving his dogs but to be honest I was more interested in his voice notes. They were too good not to be used for something, so I made a tune out of them. Then sometime during the writing process I thought it would be cool to use his idea for the video. Needless to say he was well up for it. Sam (‘the dog man’ as I like to call him), was everything I’d hoped for and more. An absolute headcase with a heart of gold, and even though him and all his boys were laughing at me while I trembled with fear, in pain, trying to lip sync with two ferocious dogs hanging off me, I felt very well looked after."
Holman recently revealed that he and Laurie Vincent were ready to "pick up where they left off" from Slaves under their new name Soft Play. Head here for the announcement.
