John Grant and synth trio Wrangler have announced their second Creep Show album.
The collaborative project, completed by Cabaret Voltaire's Stephen Mallinder, Tuung's Phil Winter and Ben "Benge" Edwards, will drop 'Yawning Abyss' on June 16 via Bella Union. Commenting on the follow-up to 2018's 'Mr Dynamite', Benge said:
"On this album, Wrangler wrangled some vintage synths, mostly Roland, Moog, and the ‘Crystal Machine’ - then John Grant joined in the fun at Memetune Studios where lots of musical experiments were carried out. Then Mal and John ran off to Iceland with the master tapes and recorded a load of madcap vocals. Back at Memetune, me and Phil were left to try and make sense of it all. Which wasn’t hard because what they did in Iceland was totally magnificent."
As a preview, the group have released the record's title track, which finds Grant's rich, deep vocals gliding over a warm, vibrant electro backdrop. Press play below.
