Alice Cooper Announces New Album 'Road', Shares Video For Opening Track I'm Alice

Alice Cooper has announced a new album.
The follow-up to 2021's 'Detroit Stories' is called 'Road' and will be released on August 25 through earMUSIC. It was written and recorded with his longtime bandmates Ryan Roxie (guitar), Chuck Garric (bass), Tommy Henrikson (guitar), Glen Sobel (drums), and Nita Strauss (guitar), with his longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin handling production.
“For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs," explained Cooper. "I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”
Alongside news of the record, he's shared a video for the opening track, I'm Alice, which delivers the captivating, sinister storytelling for which the shock rocker is known, atop an equally menacing, arena-sized rock accompaniment complete with guitar solo.
Cooper will appear as a special guest on Def Leppard and Motley Crue's US shows in August. Later that month, he'll hit the road again for the Freaks On Parade Tour, a co-headline North American run with Rob Zombie.
Prior to that, he'll embark on a UK arena tour in July with his other band, Hollywood Vampires. Discussing being so busy, he said:
“There’s no downtime for me at all. I’ve got this album, this tour, Hollywood Vampires, and a whole lot more. Most guys my age want to rest and relax. I’ve never felt more up. Physically, I’m in as good of shape as I’ve ever been. I’m not looking for any way out. I’m not going retire, and I don’t want anyone to think I am. I’m at the top of my game right now.”
