The Menzingers have announced their seventh studio album.

The follow-up to 2019's 'Hello Exile' is titled 'Some Of It Was True' and will arrive on October 13 via Epitaph Records. Guitarist and vocalist Gregor Barnett commented:

"Written over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, 'Some Of It Was True' is the most realized version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago—have fun and be ourselves."

Produced by Brad Cook and recorded in El Paso at Sonic Ranch, it'll include the newly shared song Hope Is A Dangerous Little Thing, which retains the more Americana-leaning sound heard on their recent single and the record's opening track, There's No Place In This World For Me. Rife with imagery and rich storytelling lyrics, it also offers that trademark anthemic, straight-from-the heart Menzingers touch.

Commenting on his time with the band, Cook said: "The Menzingers are as real as it gets. I had an absolute blast working with these guys and was moved to tears many times. They are truly dedicated to artistic growth, and to each other, in ways I found both refreshing and beautiful. I am now a lifer."

"Brad massively changed the way we were approaching the record," added guitarist-vocalist Tom May. "We’d talk about music and develop a vocabulary about how to work together, and that made us embrace chasing the feeling instead worrying about locking in things immediately."

"This record just feels different for us. It’s a really important one in our catalog, and a pivotal moment in our history," concluded Barnett. "We have the liberty of our fans growing with us now, and after writing these lyrical songs about where we are in life, we decided to take other peoples’ stories and make something bigger out of it."

The four-piece are currently on the road in the United States and will support the record with a 29-date North American tour in November and December. Support will come from Microwave, Cloud Nothings, and Rodeo Boys.
