The Rolling Stones Tease First Studio Album In 18 Years 'Hackney Diamonds'

Tuesday, 05 September 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

The Rolling Stones are preparing to release of new music.

Yesterday (September 4), the legendary British rockers hinted at a new album titled 'Hackney Diamonds', revealing that a worldwide announcement is to be made this Wednesday (September 6).

According to social media posts from the band, further details are to be shared at an event in Hackney, East London tomorrow, where core members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood will be interviewed by Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. The launch event will also be streamed on The Rolling Stones' YouTube channel.

"Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube," said the group.

The news comes with a teaser of a new song, a 15-second snippet streaming exclusively the website dontgetangrywithme.com.

The record will mark the band's first full-length release of original material since 2005's 'A Bigger Bang', though they put out a blues covers album called 'Blue & Lonesome' in 2016 and numerous live LPs since then. It's also their first new music since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
