Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed their remaining 2023 tour dates.
The news comes as Springsteen, who celebrated his 74th birthday last week, continues to recover from peptic ulcer disease, which forced him to postpone eight dates earlier in September.
The 14 newly postponed shows include Canadian dates and concerts in Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. All performances will be rearranged for 2024, with the rescheduled shows set to be announced later this week. The news was confirmed with a statement posted to Springsteen's social media accounts:
"Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice.
"With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024."
The statement concluded with a personal note from the music icon himself, who thanked "friends and fans" for their "good wishes, encouragement, and support". He also revealed: "I'm on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year."
There were 14 remaining shows on the band's 2023 trek, which was scheduled to conclude on December 12 in San Francisco.
Tickets for the postponed performances will remain valid for the forthcoming dates, and refunds will be available for anyone who can't attend the rescheduled concerts.
Springsteen's last studio album of original material was 2020's 'Letter to You', which he followed up with 2022's 'Only The Strong Survive', a collection of "15 soul music greats"
