Wednesday, 29 May 2024 Written by Jon Stickler

The first batch of acts has been announced for this year's Sŵn festival.

The Cardiff event will return between October 17 - 19, with shows taking place across multiple city centre venues on all three days for the first time since the pandemic.

On the Thursday, the festival will take over Womanby Street with stages confirmed at Clwb Ifor Bach, Tiny Rebel, The Moon and Fuel. The Friday and Saturday will see Sŵn expand with extra stages at Tramshed, Jacob's Antique Market, Cornerstone and Porter's (Saturday only). More venues are to be announced soon.

Among the first names confirmed for the line-up are English Teacher, Wu-Lu, Hannah Diamond, Porij, Mary In The Junkyard and Antony Szmierek, The Itch, Ellie Bleach, TWST, Blue Bendy, Clara Mann, Tom Vek, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Adwaith, Half Happy, Pys Melyn, Mellt and Hana Lili, plus many more you can check out below.

This year's iteration of the festival also sees Sŵn collaborating with Cardiff Music City Festival as part of the three week-long celebration of music featuring gigs, immersive aspects, residencies, installation and pop-ups set to take over the city. Sŵn live manager Adam Williams commented:

"I’m delighted to finally share the first wave of artists for Sŵn Festival 2024. This year’s event will be slightly different; running from Thursday through Saturday all three days will be fully multi venue, with over 130 artists performing across 11 different stages. We’re also in the process of finalising some exciting guests, stage partners and the return of our industry conference - details of which we’ll be able to share with you soon. Finally, and most importantly, this year’s event will be a key partner within the inaugural Cardiff Music City Festival; a three-week, city wide celebration of music in Cardiff this Autumn."
