Pixies have shared a new song, You're So Impatient.
The brief, driving rock track marks the Boston alt-rock legends' first new music of 2024, and their debut recording with new bassist Emma Richardson, who took over following the departure of Paz Lenchantin earlier this year. Frontman Black Francis commented:
"You're So Impatient is a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: There's this guy; there’s this gal; there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on. But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock’n’roll horror movie setting."
It arrives alongside an eerie cover of Jay Livingston and Ray Evans' 1950s hit Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be). Stream both songs below.
The double a-side single arrives a few dates into the Pixies' North American co-headline tour with Modest Mouse and Cat Power. The trek continues with a show in Atlanta, Georgia tonight (June 4).
Pixies dropped their latest album, 'Doggerel', in 2022. The band celebrated their '90s albums 'Bossanova' and 'Trompe le Monde' with UK and European shows back in March, and will return for further UK and Irish gigs in August. Tickets are on sale now.
