Goat Girl Post New Track Words Fell Out Ahead Of 'Below The Waste' Release

Goat Girl have shared another track from their new album.
Words Fell Out serves as the third and final preview of 'Below The Waste', which arrives through Rough Trade Records this Friday (June 7). One of the sparser arrangements from the record, the personal track was written by singer and guitarist Lottie Pendlebury while watching drummer Rosy Jones battle addiction. The former said:
"The song is about the helplessness felt amongst our friends as we attempted to nurture Rosy, a time that felt really hard to find words for. I wrote it to sort through the emotions that are pushed aside in the midst of dealing with a crisis. The opening line ‘I only want the best for you’ is the central theme, not only of the song but also our friendship."
It follows the previously unveiled cuts Motorway and Ride Around in previewing the LP, and comes with a black and white video, directed and shot by Pendlebury's sister, Molly Ann Pendlebury, with choreography arranged by her mother, Lauren Potter.
The band will support the follow-up to 2021's 'On All Fours' with record store gigs around the release. They've also scheduled a UK and European tour for the autumn, and will appear at the Mogwai-curated Big City music festival in Glasgow later in June, and Manchester Psych Fest in August.
