Def Leppard Release New Single Just Like 73 Featuring Tom Morello

Def Leppard have surprise released a new standalone single.
Propelled by a stadium-sized drum beat and a huge '70s glam-rock riff, Just Like 73 also features a guitar solo from Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello.
The track will be released as a limited-edition 7" on August 2. Introducing it, frontman Joe Elliott commented:
"It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time."
Guitarist Phil Collen added: "When I saw David Bowie on TV between 1972 and 1973, everything I thought I knew about music went from black and white to vivid technicolor. Our song Just Like 73 represents that awakening."
Morello said: "I had a blast rocking a solo on Just Like 73. I played 'Rock Of Ages' in my college cover band almost 40 years ago and here Def Leppard are still killing it in stadiums with a brand new tune that’s one of their best."
The song's accompanying video will premiere at 4pm BST next Thursday (June 20), ahead of the band's huge co-headline North American tour with Journey, which kicks off on July 6 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. Support will come from special guests Heart, Cheap Trick, and Steve Miller Band on select dates. Tickets are on sale now.
