Fontaines D.C. have released a new single, Here's The Thing.
Following Favourite and Starburster, the urgent and experimental offering draws influence from gritty indie-rock and punk. It serves as the third preview of the Dublin band's new album, 'Romance', due out on August 23 via XL Recordings.
Written days before the quintet started recording sessions for the LP, the song is described by frontman Grian Chatten as, "an anxious tune that twists and turns in what it wants, back and forth between pain and numbness." Fontaines D.C. recently announced their biggest headline show to date at London's Finsbury Park on July 5, 2025. They'll be joined by Amyl and the Sniffers, Kneecap and more acts that are still to be confirmed. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (August 9).
Prior to that, they'll support the record with a North American tour this fall, and UK and European shows in the winter. The group will also appear at a number of festivals this month, including Sziget, Pukkelpop, and Reading andLeeds.
