Bloc Party's Kele Okereke Announces New Solo Album And 2025 UK Tour

Friday, 27 September 2024 Written by Laura Johnson

Kele Okereke will release a new solo album next year.

The Bloc Party frontman has announced that the follow-up to 2023's 'The Flames pt.2' is called 'The Singing Winds Pt. 3' and will arrive on January 17 through KOLA Records/!K7. It's the third instalment in the solo album series he's coined The Elements. The first was 2021's 'The Waves Pt.1'.

As a preview, he's shared the record's lead single, It Wasn’t Meant To Be, which follows previous cut Hometown Edge. Introducing it, he said:

“Once the dust has settled there might be the intention to be a grown up and achieve closure with the other party but sometimes, even with the best will in the world you can't get past the fact that this person, who you once loved, has hurt you. It's a song about anger concealed in pleasantries.”

Okereke will support his new album with a UK tour in February, calling in Glasgow, Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, London, Bristol, Oxford and Brighton. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on October 2.
