Offering the country superstar's signature tongue-in-cheek lyricism and infectious call-and-response, the lovelorn song nods to George Strait's classic tune All My Ex's Live In Texas. It also marks Blake's first release for his new label home, BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and Wheelhouse Records.
Written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr and Lalo Guzman, and produced by long-time collaborator Scott Hendricks, the track's accompanying video will premiere on YouTube at 7pm GMT today (November 15). Shelton said in a statement:
"The thing that struck me about Texas immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself. I think there’s something really special about this record and it feels important to me.
"This is the perfect opportunity to come back with something so different, and it easily felt like it should be the first single. It’s connected with what I’ve done but moves forward at the same time, and it’s the perfect start to the next chapter of my career."
This summer, he scored a hit with his Post Malone collaboration Pour Me A Drink. He also collaborated with his wife Gwen Stefani on the No Doubt singer's single Purple Irises earlier this year. He released his latest album, 'Body Language', in 2021, though he put out the festive-theme record 'Cheers, It's Christmas' in 2022.
Shelton will embark on his Friends And Heroes Tour in late February, following his Live In Las Vegas residency, which takes over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace between February 5 and 15. Tickets are on sale now.
