Julien Baker and Torres Release Debut Collaborative Single Sugar in the Tank

Julien Baker and Torres have released their debut single together.
Sugar in the Tank arrives via Matador Records after the pair made a surprise appearance to perform it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this week.
The duet came about due to the singer-songwriters' shared experience of growing up queer in The American South, and finds them celebrating their love of country, a genre from which they felt excluded, until recently.
Julien Baker's last solo album was 2021's 'Little Oblivions', though since then she's been busy with Boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. The trio released Boygenius' debut alum, 'The Record', in 2023, which picked up Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammys.
Torres, meanwhile, released her latest album, 'What An Enormous Room', this January via Merge Records.
