Behemoth have announced a new album.
Titled 'The Shit Ov God', the Polish extreme metallers' 13th full-length continues their anti-religion focus and will arrive through Nuclear Blast Records on May 9.
It marks their first studio album since 2022's 'Opvs Contra Natvram' and was recorded with producer Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios. The band reunited with long-time collaborator Bartek Rogalewicz and Dark Sigil Workshop for the visuals and striking cover art, below.
To coincide with the news, Behemoth have shared the record's predictably dark title track, which offers grinding, mid-tempo guitar riffs, blast beats, and frontman Nergal's throat-shredding vocals. On the album's title, he said:
"We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favour of a direct and polarising statement. It’s a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter."
He continued: "I’ve reached a point in Behemoth’s journey and my own creativity where words and statements mean less and less. The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sounds, our performances, and the ways we connect with you. I deeply believe Behemoth represents transcendent, timeless art.
"The number thirteen—so magical and significant. If this were to be our final album, I could say I die a proud man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most refined, purest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no excess—just the very best we have to offer, handed to you.
Hail Satan."
Behemoth will be joined by Satyricon and Rotting Christ for the Unholy Trinity Tour across Europe in the spring, which incudes a date at London's O2 Academy Brixton on April 12. Tickets are on sale now.
