Lil Wayne Confirms Release Date For New Album 'Tha Carter VI'

Lil Wayne has announced the release date for his new album.
'Tha Carter VI', the sixth instalment of the Louisiana hip hop giant's album series, will arrive on June 6. Few details about the project are currently known.
The rapper teased the project with a Super Bowl LIX commercial for Cetaphil that pokes fun at himself for being snubbed from the Halftime Show performance at the sporting spectacle on February 9, which this year takes place in his hometown, New Orleans. It was confirmed back in September that Los Angeles native Kendrick Lamar will do the honours. Take a look below.
Wayne dropped the first album in the series in 2004, followed by 'Tha Carter II' in 2005, 'Tha Carter III' in 2008, 'Tha Carter IV' in 2011 and 'Tha Carter V' in 2018. Since then, Weezy has featured on a number of tracks by other artists, and released various projects, including 'Tha Fix Before Tha VI', in 2023.
He'll embark on a short US tour in February and March, which will see him perform in Indianapolis, Tallahassee, Birmingham, Norfolk and Raleigh, with support from Quavo, formerly of Migos, and rising star Anella Herim. He will also play shows in Tampa, Charlotte, St. Louis, Las Vegas, and a rescheduled date in Stockton, California. Tickets are on sale now.
