Razorlight have scheduled a UK tour for the spring.
The band will call in Southampton, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bath, London, Norwich, Liverpool, Nottingham and Glasgow between April 26 and May 7. Tickets go on general sale at 9am next Friday (February 14).
The dates will support 'Planet Nowhere', the first album from Razorlight's classic line-up of Johnny Borrell, Björn Ågren, Carl Dalemo and Andy Burrows in 16 years. The run also marks their first full scale outing since a run of sold out intimate club shows and a one-off gig at London's O2 Academy Brixton around the record's release last October. Frontman Borrell said:
"I've been playing live music for 30 years and I've seen so many great bands in my life. Music saved my life a million times and still does. Right now I reckon about 90% of the time in rock music, the musicians on stage are playing along to a backing track. A generation of young bands are coming-of-age in a time where doing this is the norm and I'm trying to highlight that musicians playing live without the click or backing track is in danger of becoming a lost art. There's a world of identity, interaction and creativity that comes when you get off the musical grid. I believe it's part of what gives each band its own unique sound."
Razorlight will also support James at a Summer Sessions show in Plymouth on June 12, and a Forest Live date in Cannock Chase Forest on June 28. They'll also headline The Brit Fest in Cheshire on July 4, and the Summer Nights At Caldicot Castle series in Monmouthshire on August 1. Tickets are on sale now.
