The Stranglers have announced the 51 Tour of the UK for the autumn.
The influential new wave icons will head to Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Bristol, Brighton and London, where they'll conclude the run with two nights at the Roundhouse on October 31 and November 1.
Following on from the band's 50th anniversary shows last year, the new trek will celebrate making it past the big five-o. Support will come from special guests Buzzcocks on all dates except those in Scotland, where the openers are still to be confirmed
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (February 28). Announcing the dates with a post on social media, the band wrote:
"They say 'making it to a goal is one thing, but making it further is even better'. We are thrilled to announce The Stranglers '51' UK Tour. Fifty one years on the road and still going strong. Plus special guests Buzzcocks."
The tour will follow The Stranglers' previously confirmed summer shows, which include a performance at the Live at Lincoln Castle series on June 13, a Southampton Summer Sessions show on June 14, and a date at the inaugural Warwick Sessions on July 4. Following that, they'll support Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter at Dreamland in Margate on August 23.
The band will also continue their 50 Years In Black World Tour with shows in Australia and New Zealand in March. Tickets are on sale now.
They put out their latest studio album, 'Dark Matters', in 2021.
