Garbage Confirm Spring Release Date For New Album 'Let All That We Imagine Be The Light'

Thursday, 27 February 2025 Written by Laura Johnson

Garbage will return with their eighth studio album this spring.

'Let All That We Imagine Be The Light', the follow-up to the Scottish-American band's 2021 LP 'No Gods No Masters', will be released on May 30.

It was recorded between Red Razor Sounds in Los Angeles, drummer Butch Vig’s studio Grunge Is Dead, and frontwoman Shirley Manson’s bedroom, with production handled by the quartet — completed by Duke Erikson and Steve Marker — and their longtime engineer Billy Bush. Manson said:

“Going into making this record, I was determined to find a more hopeful, uplifting world to immerse myself in. The title of the album, Let All That We Imagine Be The Light is a perfect, headline statement for the record as a whole. When things feel dark it feels imperative to seek out the forces that are light, positive and beautiful in the world. It almost feels like a matter of life and death. A strategy for survival."
