DMA's guitarist Johnny Took and his brother, PLANET singer Matty Took, have announced their debut album under the moniker BIIG Time.
'200K' is due out through All Sorted Records on May 9. It's previewed by the first single, Bigger Than Nothing, an anthemic indie-rock track that offers harmonised vocals over shoegazey guitars. Head below to view the song's accompanying video, which features personal home video footage of the siblings' childhoods in Sydney, Australia. They said:
"Bigger Than Nothing is our first release since our first and only single It’s You back in 2020! It’s quintessential BIIG TIME. Harmonies the whole way through and distorted guitars. Lyrically it’s full of tongue in cheek self-deprecation and floating in and out of the feeling of not being good enough for people and situations around you.
"It’s the first single from the album, which is a collection of gems that we have written over the years. We couldn’t be prouder to share this first taste."
The brothers will support the record with a UK tour, with stops confirmed in Leeds, Birmingham, Keele, Bristol, Glasgow, Stockton, Portsmouth, London and Manchester between May 14 and 24. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (April 4).
DMA's released their latest album, and fourth overall, 'How Many Dreams?', in 2023. The year before, PLANET put out their debut LP, 'Information Overload'.
