Volbeat Post New Track The Barn Of The Goat Giving Birth To Satan's Spawn In A Dying World Of Doom

Volbeat have released a new single.
Serving up heavy rock and twangy rockabilly influences, the ludicrously titled In the Barn of the Goat Giving Birth to Satan's Spawn in a Dying World of Doom will feature on the band's new album, 'God Of Angels Trust', out on June 6 via Vertigo/Universal. Commenting on the origin of the song, vocalist-guitarist Michael Poulsen said:
"I had so much fun writing these lyrics. It's about the outcasts and fallen angels of God — all the angels that were cast out of Heaven. And I'm being told to collect them in this big wagon and bring them to a barn.
"There's a ritual going on where the fallen angels are being sacrificed to Satan's spawn to create soldiers for a new dark kingdom. So, instead of inviting my lady out to go to the cinema, I say, 'I have something better. You have to see what's going on in this barn... we've been invited to see the birth of Satan’s spawn and watch the world go down. How about that?"
He added: "I think some people will read the lyrics and go, 'What’s wrong with this dude?' But, it's all for fun. It's like a silly horror movie. Or is it?"
The Danish rockers, completed by drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen, previously teased the follow-up to 2021's 'Servant Of The Mind' with the first single, By A Monster's Hand.
They'll support the record with 2025 European, UK and North American shows, billed the Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide. The first leg kicks off in June with a co-headlining Canadian run with Three Days Grace and Wage War, before North American dates in July and August, featuring special guests Halestorm and The Ghost Inside.
Volbeat will return to Europe later in the year, with UK arena shows lined up in Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London in November. Support will come from special guests Bush, and Gel. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
